The 2.0 version of Understand is the culmination of lots of customer feedback, and lots of work on our end. We want to thank all of you who have helped us to this point, by beta-testing, making comments and suggestions (we really do listen), and of course by purchasing.

We've made many improvements to the tool to respond directly to your requests, and several of them break new ground in the code maintenance world. The Architect and Change features, in particular, make Understand 2.0 a one-of-a-kind product:

• Architect lets you analyze whole structures of your code, and perform metrics on hierarchies.


• Change lets you take "snapshots" of your code, or any portion of it, at various times, then do comparative analysis between snapshots. This measuring of code volume or complexity over time is easily done.


• Entirely new code editor, optimized for maintenance tasks.


• Completely rewritten GUI, brings everything up to date and increases usability.


• Combined Language Analysis (CLA). Many users asked for this, and with Understand 2.0 you can now handle code projects written in several languages.
